Intro

I am not really sure why I have this page. I figure most everyone who comes here will already know me. I'll just provide a little background and maybe an update for those who I have not spoken with in awhile.

So I grew up in Chicopee, MA and went on to UMass Amherst. I got a business degree there I moved to Worcester where I got my MBA at Clark. I went to work for a small niche consulting firm called Currie Management Consultants in 1997. Except for a year and a half break where I was freelancing and teaching computers I have been here ever since. Sometimes traveling a lot gets tough, but it has been reasonable lately. I actually don't mind going away periodically and seeing new places.

I try to keep busy outside work. I spend a lot of time doing projects around the house. I also learned to play guitar a couple years back. Now I am learning how to fly. I'm not sure what's next. Something, though.

I also have 2 dogs. They are fun. And you can write to them.

The Site

I was searching for a domain name for someone one day and decided to see if my name was available; labonte.com was taken, but jefflabonte.com was not. For $55 for 5 years, I reserved it. It just sat there and now that I have the time and initiative, I am filling it in. Now that everyone is on the web (my 87 year old grandmother told me she wants a computer), I figure it is a nice way to let others know what we have been up to.

All in all, this is kind of a laboratory for me because I am the ad hoc technology coordinator at work. I can play around with stuff on my own site, then apply it to the company site. Plus, it's fun. There are no rules, and I like that. If something offends, I don't have to care because it's mine and I'm not selling anything so you can't boycott me.
